What a score means
Every message lands in one of five bands. These are the same bands the app shows you, read from the service that assigns them.
- Trustworthy85 to 99
- Seems Safe65 to 84
- Use Caution40 to 64
- Likely Unsafe20 to 39
- High Risk1 to 19
On your device
Sentinel, the engine behind every score, runs entirely on your phone. The text of your messages is never sent to us, so there is nothing for us to store, sell or lose.
Yours to decide
Vigil tells you what it found and why. It doesn’t decide for you, and it will tell you when it isn’t sure.
